"We decided to cancel all Christmas and New Year's celebrations, except for the performance of religious rites in churches in solidarity with the homeland, public security (forces), and our grieving families who offered their sons as martyrs, to protect the soil of our blessed Jordan," the council said in a statement.
The raid took place in the Husseiniya area, in Maan Governorate early Monday.
