AMMAN — The Jordanian Jewelers Syndicate has renewed its warning to citizens against being drawn into fake offers on gold prices, or buying gold via social media pages, according to Al Mamlaka TV.اضافة اعلان

Syndicate President Rebhi Allan said on Sunday that “the syndicate has received many complaints about gold and jewelry sold in misleading ways and sometimes without invoices”, adding that gold prices are dictated by global markets and are not subject to daily or seasonal offers and discounts.

He also said that the syndicate publishes the prices of these commodities through its bulletin.

Allan urged citizens to purchase from licensed shops and request an official invoice when buying gold, including details like gold’s caliber, weight, price per gram, goldsmith’s fee, and the total price.

He said that licensed merchants pay income tax, a factory allowance for the importer, and customs fees, stressing that the Jordanian gold industry enjoys trust and competes in export markets.
