AMMAN —
Civil Defense personnel dealt with 1,381
accidents, 122 fires and 126 rescue operations during the hot spell pounding
Jordan, Director of the Ambulance and Humanitarian Support Department at the
Civil Defense Directorate Ahmed Shloul was quoted as saying by Al-Mamlaka TV.

Shloul said on Monday that the department also dealt with an
electrical transformer that caught fire as a result of excessive load and high
temperatures.
On Monday temperatures were still 7 to 9 degrees Celsius
above the average for this time of the year, and the weather will continue to
be dry and hot in mountainous areas, and very hot in the rest of the Kingdom.
The
Meteorological Department issued a report warning of the
danger of direct sun exposure, leaving children or flammable materials inside
vehicles, and the possibility of low visibility due to dust in the Badia
region.
According to the report, the heat wave will continue until
Thursday.
