Civil society, trade unions urge gov’t to ignore suggestion

AMMAN — A memorandum signed by more than 50 bodies representing civil society organizations and trade unions called on the Cabinet to disregard the Public Sector Modernization Committee recommendation to abolish the Ministry of Labor, stressing that it is an unstudied move that “proves” that bureaucracy supersedes economic and social interests.اضافة اعلان

It also stressed that instead of abolishing the ministry, the government should organize the work of the ministry and empower it to contribute to labor market policies, with transparency and accountability.
