AMMAN —
According to a report by the
Jordan Payments and Clearing Company (JoPACC), the
value of movements carried out through the instant payment system CliQ
increased by 12.4 percent in January.

A total of 1.3
million movements were achieved via
CliQ on bank applications, amounting to a
total value of JD235 million, up from JD209 million in December of 2022, a
local media outlet reported.
BreakdownOf the
movements in January, JD25.5 million, or 10.9 percent, were purchases, while
JD209.1 million, or 89.1 percent, were money transfers.
The report
showed that 99.1 percent of CliQ users in Jordan are individuals, with
institutions only constituting 0.9 percent of users
User detailsAt the end of
January, CliQ users in the Kingdom totaled around 592,000. This group included
5,510 Jordanians and 2,780 non-Jordanians. Breaking down the usage by gender,
65.7 percent of users were male and 34.3 percent female.
In regards to
age groups, approximately 2,000 people under the age of 18 used the app,
140,000 were in the age group 18–30, 153,000 were in the age group 31–40,
83,000 were in the age group 41–50, 47,000 were in the age group 51–60, 19,000
were in the age group 61–70, and 4,000 were in the age group 71–80.
In the last
three months, the average CliQ transfer was JD178.
