AMMAN— A cold and wet
air mass accompanying a
depression centered over of Cyprus is expected to affect the Kingdom on Friday,
bringing temperatures drop, cold and cloudy weather and rain falls in the
northern and central regions and some parts of the southwestern regions, the
Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said on Friday, according to the Jordan
News Agency, Petra.

Heavy rain, with occasional thunder and hail, is
expected to fall, which will lead to flash flood in valleys and low areas,
especially in the north and center regions. Winds are westerly, brisk, with
occasional strong gusts, reaching a speed of about 50 km / h in some areas,
raising dust, especially in the Badia areas, the JMD report said.
The JMD warned of flash floods in valleys and low
areas, especially in the north and center regions, including the Dead Sea. It
also warned drivers of slipping on roads due to the expected rainfall and low
horizontal visibility due to the fog formation and low clouds over mountain
heights, as well as the heavy wind speed, and low horizontal visibility due to
the fog formation and low clouds in
Badia areas due to dust raised by the wind.
On Saturday, the weather is expected to be cold
and partly cloudy to cloudy, bringing rain showers in the north and center of
the Kingdom and parts of the southwestern regions that might be heavy in the
morning and the northwest moderate winds will be brisk some times.
Chances of rain gradually weakens in the evening,
and cold and partially cloudy weather prevails in most regions of the Kingdom.
Fog is expected to form over mountain heights and plains, and winds will be
northwesterly, light in speed.
On Sunday, the weather will see a slight rise in
temperatures with the weather remaining partly cloudy and cold in most areas.
Temperatures will range between 16 C during the
day and a low of 11 C at night in Amman, and between 25 C and 16 C in Aqaba,
the JMD said.
