AMMAN —
The
Lower House Finance Committee on Sunday heard clarifications from concerned
authorities on violations related to the Ministry of Agriculture and Hashemite
Fund for the Development of the Jordan Badia (HFDJB), which were mentioned in
Jordanian Audit Bureau’s (JAB) reports for 2018, 2019 and 2020, consecutively,
according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Committee Chairman
Mohammad Al-Saudi said members were briefed on the irregularities that surfaced
following a sudden inspection on main warehouses in Amman’s Jawa region, which
showed expired chemical substances under bad storage conditions, adding that a
panel was formed to investigate this issue.
In the same
sector, Saudi said rectifying violations related to Waala Agricultural
Station’s records in central Madaba governorate is still ongoing.
Meanwhile, the
Salt agriculture directorate’s file has been transferred to the judiciary, he
said. He added that 2019 violations in Agricultural Credit Corporation are
still being rectified.
In another
meeting, Saudi said clarifications related to HFDJB focused on administrative
and financial aspects.
HFDJB violations are
related to the fund’s financial systems, which were renewed and uploaded to the
new network, and duly linked with the
Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, he said, adding that these regulations are awaiting Cabinet
approval.
