Committee to establish criteria for Medical Law

AMMAN — Head of the Jordan Medical Association Ziyad Al-Zoubi said that Jordan’s medical, pharmaceutical, and nursing associations have formed a joint committee to establish sub-criteria for each association to apply the Medical Liability Law, according to Jo24. Article 6 of the law must be applied to the rules of each association, he said, noting that certain criteria must be put in place so that the law can be applied properly, especially in the case of surgical operations. Zoubi said the committee needs at least three months to complete its agenda and to establish the unique criteria for each party for dealing with patients before surgical procedures. A committee has been formed by the Minister of Health to consider complaints received by the Ministry of Health and to address court cases, he said.
