Control squads fighting locust in southern desert

AMMAN — Minister of Agriculture Khalid Al-Hneifat on Friday said that the Ministry of Agriculture's cadres, with the participation of more than 10 control teams, are carrying out operations to combat desert locust within Al-Haq and Al-Bashair farms in Al-Mudawara area, deploying special equipment.اضافة اعلان

During a follow-up tour of the areas where early swarms of the pest were detected, the minister said that survey teams were operating in the southern regions and have finished treating more than 2,000 dunums of land cultivated with water melon, as well as fodder fields, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

Hneifat indicated that the control efforts received support from teams from Maan, Tafileh and Aqaba governorate.
