AMMAN — The Higher Education Council on Monday approved several suggestions aimed at enhancing the security system at universities, including making security a condition for granting general accreditation criteria, Al-Ghad News reported.اضافة اعلان

The endorsement of the suggestions is due to the council’s desire to strengthen the security system on campus to ensure that incidents of violence like those recently witnessed do not happen again, and to preserve the safety of students and of higher education institutions staff members.

The security systems at universities should include electronic gates at main entrances, surveillance cameras at all university facilities, within and outside the campus, in neighboring streets and parks.

At the same time, universities should hire qualified security staff to work around the campus 24 hours a day, with a central administration to regulate their affairs.
