Simultaneously, the
Tareq station will also be inaugurated, Shawarbeh said.
He tweeted
Thursday: “Thank God, after the completion of the infrastructure work for the
second track of the first phase of the BRT busses by 100 percent, the countdown
for starting the second phase of BRT has begun, along with the opening of the
Tareq station.”
The
Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) estimated the cost of financing the second phase of the BRT
project at JD281 million from 2022 to 2026.
GAM indicated in
its strategic plan that BRT for the first and second phases entail preparing
engineering designs for vital intersections in the city.
The World Bank said
previously that the second phase will stretch over 50kg from the Eighth Circle,
to Sweileh, Marj al-Hamam, and downtown, where there is a BRT station in Ras
