MAAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein, visited Maan on Thursday, and thanked all Jordanians for joining in the
celebration of his wedding, according to a Royal Court statement.

At a meeting with leading figures from the governorate,
Crown Prince Hussein said Maan residents have always modeled honorable
stances in service of the nation.
His Royal Highness said the palace of King Abdullah I, at
which the meeting was held, carries great significance for Jordanians, as it
witnessed the initial steps to establish the state, and was a key milestone for
the Great Arab Revolt.
The Crown Prince said the palace is part of Jordanian
heritage and all share the responsibility of preserving it, noting that he will
follow up on its restoration to become a major tourist destination in Maan.
Turning to the importance of Maan’s location on the
pilgrimage route, His Royal Highness commended the role of the governorate’s
residents in receiving pilgrims on their way to perform Hajj, the greater
Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca.
Attendees welcomed the Crown Prince, and underlined the
importance of the regular outreach by His Majesty King Abdullah and His Royal
Highness to Jordanians across the country.
They commended His Majesty’s keenness to follow up on the
progress of implementing the three modernization tracks, lauding his principled
positions towards Arab causes.
The speakers also stressed the importance of the restoration
of the palace of King Abdullah I in Maan, commending the Brothers in Arms
initiative to support military retirees, and stressing the need to join
political parties to advocate for reform across various sectors.
They highlighted a number of concerns in the governorate, including
water scarcity, and the need to focus on agriculture and attract investments to
reduce unemployment among young people.
