The Jordanian Customs Department announced on Wednesday the suspension of freight reception heading towards the Jaber border crossing upon request from the Syrian side during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday. However, passenger movement at the passenger terminal will continue as usual without any changes. Major General Ahmad Al-Akaliq, Director General of the Jordanian Customs, stated that all necessary measures have been taken to manage the flow of passengers and freight during the Eid holiday. He instructed all staff at customs offices and centers to be prepared and take the necessary steps to facilitate the smooth movement of passengers and goods. The customs centers have been reinforced with qualified staff to manage the flow of passengers and the smooth transit of goods, in line with the increased traffic. A special emergency plan has been developed for this purpose, ensuring a balance between facilitation and compliance.

Al-Akaliq emphasized to the managers of the border centers the importance of taking all necessary steps to ensure smooth operations and to coordinate with the relevant authorities working at all centers around the clock. This coordination aims to ensure that visitors to the Kingdom and expatriates can complete their transactions with ease and comfort, wishing them a safe arrival and pleasant stay in the Kingdom.

The Jordanian Customs Department affirmed its commitment to serving the country and its citizens in coordination with all the agencies operating at the official and security border centers.
