The spokesperson for the Jordanian Customs Department announced that customs officers at Queen Alia International Airport, in cooperation with the airport's security forces, thwarted an attempt to smuggle 204 artifacts out of the country. The items were hidden with a passenger of Arab nationality.

In a statement on Monday, the Customs Department said that the officers at the passenger terminal center managed to prevent the smuggling of 204 different artifacts. After suspecting the passenger, a thorough search was conducted, during which the items were found. Experts from the Department of Antiquities were consulted to examine and confirm the nature of the artifacts. After the inspection, it was confirmed that all the items were indeed historical artifacts. The items were documented, and procedures were initiated to hand them over to the Department of Antiquities.
The Customs Department emphasized that its personnel, working alongside other security and regulatory agencies, remain dedicated to fighting all forms of smuggling and are committed to safeguarding economic and social security.
