Cyber Crimes Unit warns of electronic financial fraud

AMMAN - The Public Security Department’s Cyber Crimes Unit spokesperson, on Thursday, said the unit continuously deals with complaints from citizens that they are exposed to electronic financial fraud by people who impersonate their relatives, friends and colleagues. He added that persons who involved in such fraudulence process will ask the ordinary people for money transfers or the credit card numbers. The unit called on citizens and residents not to transfer any money until verifying the identity of the person, and not to send any copy of the credit card or its password, due to any reason.
