AMMAN — Social Media platform TikTok has been
temporarily suspended across the Kingdom as of Friday due to “user misuse and
the platform’s failure to deal with content inciting violence”, according to a
statement by the Cybercrime Unit.
According to local media, the unit also announced that its
teams will be following up on what is being posted on social media platforms,
especially regarding hate speech, incitement to vandalism, and attacks on law
enforcement agencies and property.
The unit added that the competent authorities will refer
anyone who commits such crimes to the judiciary.
