In their latest advisory, they have highlighted a new fraudulent method that exploits individuals by requesting the download of an application, ultimately leading to phone hacking and the compromising of personal information.

Perpetrators then proceed to demand financial compensation to prevent the public disclosure of sensitive data and photos, reported Ad-Dustor daily.

The Cybercrime Unit emphasizes the importance of taking immediate action when encountering such crimes and strongly encourages individuals to report any incidents to them promptly.

They assure the public that all cases will be handled with utmost confidentiality, ensuring the protection of victims' privacy and well-being.
