Earlier this month, the ministry said
storage of the Kingdom's 14 dams stood at 115 million cubic meters. It
attributed the drop in storage to water use for agricultural and industrial
facilities and feeding groundwater reserves, the Jordan News Agency, Petra,
reported.
Seasonal rainfallPrecipitation during this year’s rainy
season is still below-average in most regions of Jordan, despite heavier than
normal rainfall in many parts of the Kingdom in February, said the Director of
the Jordan Meteorological Department, Raed Khattab.
Early last month, consecutive weather depressions
at the beginning of the month brought over 200 percent of average February
rainfall to Jordan’s central region, according to data from the department, as
reported by Addustour daily.
However, after the tenth of the month,
rainfall declined across the Kingdom, leading to below-average precipitation in
most regions of Jordan.
