Aqaba – The Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority approved the establishment of a specialized vehicle maintenance center within the new business zone for one of the global car dealerships, which has chosen Aqaba as its new center for car sales and maintenance.اضافة اعلان

This decision is part of efforts to attract global and specialized centers and dealerships to provide new job opportunities for job seekers, in addition to graduates from the technical and vocational training programs offered by the Employment Support Directorate at the authority.

The board also approved the investment decision for managing and operating the Fishermen’s Marina building within the new fish market.

This will establish a distinguished tourist facility and a top-level market for selling fish caught by Aqaba fishermen, providing a financial resource for all fishermen.

The board also approved the division of private land plots surrounding the Shakriya Village, within the Zahra, Mountain, and Plain basins, which were approved for land use change from agricultural to tourism, according to established guidelines, enabling the local community to establish tourism projects.

The council approved the proposed locations for new tourist signage in the city of Aqaba to inform visitors and tourists about the city's tourist sites and ensure easy access to them.

In the areas of leadership, innovation, skill development, and local community growth, the board approved the proposal for the construction of a five-a-side football field in the ninth residential area as an investment opportunity for young entrepreneurs in the city, offering a set of incentives.

This decision aligns with the authority’s vision to support and empower youth and entrepreneurial projects by creating new job opportunities, as part of its strategy to develop the local community and enhance sportsmanship and competitiveness.

The board also approved the implementation of projects stemming from the comprehensive urban plan for land uses (2024-2040), in addition to a series of administrative and organizational decisions for the Aqaba region.
