The Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority has approved the initial general concept for the development project of Ras Al-Yamaniya Beach in the southern beach area, as part of the implementation of the 2040 Urban Master Plan. اضافة اعلان

This decision is in line with the authority’s vision and the 2040 master plan, aimed at improving the quality of life, providing public facilities, parks, beaches, and green spaces, and achieving sustainable growth with the highest standards and the best services for both citizens and tourists. The project also seeks to diversify the tourism product, contributing to making Aqaba a global tourist destination.

Additionally, the Board approved the preliminary organizational plans for the new commercial center project in the southern beach area. This project aligns with the authority’s vision to expand commercial areas in southern Aqaba across various sectors (business centers, hotels, shopping centers, residential areas, training colleges, and multi-use spaces) to improve quality of life and make life easier for citizens and tourists by meeting all essential needs. The authority aims to make this area a smart city, using the latest technologies and global best practices.

The Board also approved the preliminary plans and regulatory provisions for the plot designated for the construction of Yaseen Mosque in the second commercial area. This decision is part of the authority’s vision, in coordination with the Aqaba Directorate of Religious Affairs, to support and maintain mosques in Aqaba city and build a prayer hall in the second commercial area to serve worshippers in the region.

Furthermore, the Board approved the regulation of part of the land allocated by the authority to the Ministry of Health within the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Field Hospital premises, to be used for building medical storage facilities for the hospital. This decision aligns with the authority’s vision to support and develop the healthcare sector in Aqaba to provide the best services to both citizens and visitors.

Regarding investment encouragement, the Board approved extending the decision on the calculation of parking fees for non-residential uses in various areas of Aqaba for one more month. This decision serves as a final extension to allow citizens and investors to complete the procedural approval of their plans by the Jordan Engineers Association. The decision applies to plans that have been submitted to the association before April 30, and the new parking fee decision will take effect starting May 1.

In the area of leadership, innovation, and community support, the Board approved contributing logistical support for hosting the West Asia Football Association Championship for women. This decision is part of the authority’s vision to make Aqaba a regional hub for international sports championships. The Aqaba area will host the West Asia Women's Football Championship, which will feature 4 international teams, contributing to stimulating both the sports and commercial movement in the city.

The Board also approved signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and the Aman Fund for Orphans, as part of the authority's vision to support orphans and provide them with a decent life through networking with institutions specialized in orphan care, offering technical and logistical support, and equipping them with life and technical skills to build their future.

Additionally, the Board approved referring the investment opportunity for constructing a football stadium in the ninth residential area to the applicant who scored the highest marks from Aqaba youth.
