–The official
eFAWATEERcom application, endorsed by
Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ),
recorded a total of 47.56 million transactions, amounting to JD10.68 billion,
from the beginning of the current year until the end of November, according to
statistics from the The
Jordan Payments and Clearing Company (JoPACC), reported
by Al-Mamlaka TV.

In
November, the value of transactions through the application amounted to JD864
million compared to JD79 million from October, showing a 19.9 percent decrease
compared to the previous month. The average transaction value on
eFAWATEERcom stood at JD189.
Meanwhile,
the number of transactions in November decreased to 4.57 million, reflecting a
12.6 percent drop from October's 5.23 million transactions. Government services
led the way with transactions valued at JD577, followed by services provided by
governorates and
payment service providers at around JD130 million. Water and
electricity services amounted to JD52 million.
Meanwhile,
financial services followed with JD35 million,
telecommunications with JD26
million, and the trade and services sector with JD10 million. Gas and energy
transactions reached JD12 million, while banks recorded JD5 million. Travel and
transportation services accounted for JD5 million, and education for JD4
million, and health services for 13,000 transactions.
By
the end of October, the application saw the addition of 32,000 new users,
constituting 1 percent of the total 4 million users. The number of billers reached
502, offering 1.671 million services.
Breaking
down the transactions by sector, communications led with approximately 1.646
million transactions, followed by water and electricity with 1.291 million
transactions. Payments to government services reached around 765,000
transactions, and companies in governorates and payment service providers
processed 429,000 transactions.
Additionally,
the
financial services sector had 252,000 transactions, trade and services with
35,000 transactions, associations and organizations with 24,000 transactions,
and travel and transportation with 24,000 transactions. Education accounted for
19,000 transactions, while health services recorded 13,000 transactions.
E-wallet surge: 23.5M transactions,
JD2.79B
According
to JoPACC, Users of electronic wallets (
E-wallet) in Jordan executed 23.53 million
transactions, amounting to JD2.79 billion, from the beginning of the current
year until the end of November.
In
the past month, the company revealed that JD2.13 million utilized electronic
wallets, conducting 2.76 million transactions through mobile phone-mediated
payment systems, a slight 0.5 percent decrease from October's 2.78 million
transactions.
JoPACC
highlighted that the value of transactions via the wallet system was JD305
million in the previous month, compared to JD323 million in October, marking a
5.5 percent decrease. The average transaction value for the month was JD111.
Breaking
down the transactions, 87.1 percent (2.4 million transactions) were for money
transfers, 5.1 percent (14,000 transactions) for withdrawals, 4.2 percent
(114,800transactions) for purchases, and 3.6 percent (100,000 transactions) for
deposits.
According
to the report, 88.2 percent of electronic wallet users, totaling 1.88 million
individuals, are Jordanian, while 11.8 percent (251,000 individuals) are
non-Jordanians. In terms of gender distribution, 52.5 percent (1.1 million) are
male, and 47.1 percent (1 million) are female.
CliQ faces 2.7 percent decrease,
JD563 Million in November transactions
JoPACC
report further added that
CliQ payments witnessed a 2.7 percent decline in
transaction value last month, totaling JD563 million compared to JD579 million;
the total number of transactions conducted through CliQ reached 26.15 million,
amounting to JD4.48 billion, from the
beginning of the current year until the end of November.
JoPACC
revealed that the total number of CliQ users in Jordan reached 1.13 million
clients at the end of November, marking a 4.9 percent increase from the 1.08
million users in October. 3.59 million transactions were executed in November
via banks, a 3.7 percent increase from the 3.46 million transactions in the
previous month.
The
report further disclosed that 88.5 percent of the transactions, totaling 3.2
million, were for money transfers, amounting to JD470 million. The remaining
414,000 transactions, constituting 11.5 percent, were for purchases, totaling
JD92.3 million. The average value of money transfer transactions stood at JD57.
The
report highlighted that 96.9 percent of system users are Jordanian, totaling
1.09 million individuals, while 3.1 percent (356,000 individuals) are
non-Jordanians. Gender distribution showed 63.9 percent male users 723,000 and
34 percent female users 385,000.
User
statistics based on age groups include 4,000 for those under 18, 449,000 aged
18 to 30, 302,000 aged 31 to 40, and 188,000 aged 41 to 50. Additionally,
112,000 users are aged 51 to 60, 47,000 aged 61 to 701,100 aged 71 to 80, and
2,000 individuals aged 81 to 90.
