AMMAN —
Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi Saturday unveiled a new package of development
projects in the Northern Badia, as part of Royal initiatives.
Issawi also inaugurated projects in Al-Ruweished
District, according to local media outlets.
The projects entail building 100 houses for
underprivileged families, establishing a garment factory that will create
200–400 job opportunities for the local community, and productive projects
through cooperatives in the northern region.
Issawi, head of the committee tasked with
following up on the implementation of the Royal initiatives, told a meeting
with dignitaries and youth and women activists in the region that the new
projects will be carried out according to a timeframe and in cooperation with
the relevant government agencies and partners.
He said that the meetings with local
communities came upon the directives of His Majesty, “who is aware of the
challenges facing the people of the region, and who always underscores the need
to reach out and listen to their demands and work to meet their needs”.
Issawi pointed out that under Royal
directives, the Northern Badia will see development projects in various fields,
with focus on agriculture, depending on the needs and priorities of each
region.
Despite the challenges facing the economy, he
said, improving the living conditions of citizens and services is a top
priority of His Majesty, who constantly urges work to achieve that goal,
protect the poor, and strengthen institutional tools to care for the needy and
support entrepreneurship, creativity and small and medium enterprises.
The local leaders commended the King’s efforts
to improve the economy of local communities and his directives to launch
projects to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development.
Their demands focused on finding solutions to
poverty and unemployment in their region, supporting farmers, agricultural
projects ,and employment programs through productive and job-generating
projects, improving health, educational, cultural, and infrastructure services,
supporting charities and sports clubs, attracting investments to the region and
paying more attention to the livestock sector.
Accompanied by Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya
Al-Kasbi and Mafraq Governor Salman Najada, Issawi handed the keys to their new
houses to 20 needy families. He also opened a public park in Manshiyet
Al-Ghayath, the Ruweished District, which was implemented under the Royal
initiatives with UAE funding. He also checked on the progress of work on the
new Al-Ruweished Hospital.
