The farmers shared that the
decision saved the agriculture sector from deteriorating, especially considering large accumulated quantities of oil are present in warehouses.
Irbid Agriculture Director Abdulwali Tahat stated that the decision would provide direct support for olive farmers and positively influence the sector this year.
He added that the olive sector is one of the most critical sectors nationwide, indicating that around 266 dunums in Irbid hold olive trees. Moreover, olive trees make up 95 percent of the productive trees in the governorate.
To receive the funds needed, stakeholders must submit a request for the Financial Affairs Department; provided that they submit their olive oil exporting license, a customs bill, a copy of the customs statement, a copy of the corporation certificate issued by the Chamber of Commerce, and an authenticity test results from the authorized laboratories.
