DoS: 2024 olive oil production jumps by 40% so far

Amman - Jordan's olive oil production increased by 40.2% during the first two months of the current season 2024, compared to the same period in the last harvest.اضافة اعلان

In its report on olive oil production during the period from October 12 to December 11, Department of Statistics (DoS) said the quantity made since the beginning of the current season amounted to 34.03 thousand tons, compared to 24.27 thousand tons in the first and second months of last season.

As for the geographical distribution of olive oil production quantities, northern Irbid governorate ranked top with a volume of 17,000 tons, followed by Ajloun at 6, 200 tons, and central Balqa governorate granered the third place with about 3, 200 tons, while production in Aqaba governorate was the lowest with a quantity estimated at 200 tons.

The department will issue the final results at the end of the olive season early next year.
