The
Amman Magistrate Court, headed by Judge Diab
Al-Ishteyat, handed down its verdict and sentencing in a public hearing. The
verdict can be appealed.
The court said it found that the convict performed a
surgery on a person, whose skull bone was punctured because of the doctor’s
lack of caution. That resulted in complications, which constituted the offense
of causing the death of a person.
The court explained that the lack of caution was considered a form of a
medical error, according to article 343 of the Penal Code and the definition of
medical error contained in article 2 of the Law on Medical and Health
Liability.
