Over the past few days, the department managed to arrest 23 individuals involved in these criminal activities, with significant amounts of drugs and weapons seized.
In one of the most notable cases, a successful international collaboration between the Drug Control Departments of Jordan and Egypt led to the thwarting of a large drug smuggling attempt. The operation resulted in the interception of 1.1 million Captagon pills, which were hidden inside furniture and wooden pieces in a shipment arriving at the Aqaba Port. The shipment was intended to pass through Jordan as a transit route before being re-smuggled to a neighboring country. Following close coordination with the Jordanian security forces and customs, the shipment was seized, and investigations are ongoing to identify those involved in the operation inside and outside the Kingdom.
