AMMAN — The Anti-Narcotics Department
is continuing its operations to arrest drug dealers and traffickers, raiding
their hideouts in governorates across the Kingdom, Al-Ghad News reported.

The Public Security Directorate (PSD)
spokesperson said that Anti-Narcotics Department personnel carried out three new
successful operations that led to the arrest of four drug dealers and traffickers
in possession of firearms and narcotics in the Aqaba Governorate and the Ramtha
region.
The spokesperson said that following
a tip, the PSD, in coordination with Jordan Customs Department, searched the
house of a drug dealer in Aqaba Governorate and arrested him for possession of narcotic
substances intended for trafficking: 3kgs of hashish and 10,000 narcotic pills.
In the Ramtha region, two cases were
dealt with. In one, a wanted person was arrested for being in possession of
quantities of hashish prepared for sale were found in his possession and for
attempting to use an automatic weapon against the security forces. The drugs
and the weapon were seized.
In the second case, two drug dealers
and traffickers were arrested for being in possession of various narcotics
prepared for sale; a firearm was also seized in the raid.
