AMMAN — The
Dutch and French embassies to
Jordan agreed on a 1.9 million euro joint funding project to support Jordan’s
army and security apparatus in protecting the Kingdom’s border with Syria,
AmmanNet reported.

Ruwaished border post with Syria has seen several
bungled infiltration attempts by armed men, or drug traffickers since the
beginning of the year.
The Dutch embassy said a memorandum of understanding
was signed at the mission’s premises in Amman. It said in a statement that the
signing was attended by representatives of the
Jordanian Armed Forces- Arab Army, the French ambassador to Jordan and the acting deputy of the Dutch
embassy.
It said the Netherlands will disburse 1.45 million euros,
while France will pay the remaining 450,000 euros.
