Ministry spokesman Tareq Al-Majali said
that the
e-visa consists of a digital document obtained through the Interior
Ministry’s mobile application. Applicants can enter their personal information
for the purpose of receiving visas, and, following confirmation, will obtain a
barcode that will allow their passports to be stamped directly upon arrival to
the Kingdom.
This represents the first time that five-year
electronic visas will be granted by the Kingdom, Minister of Interior Mazen
Al-Faraya said last week during a meeting with the Parliamentary Finance
Committee.
He noted that the ministry has “greatly
facilitated” entry to Jordan, leading to a significant increase in the number
of arrivals, especially as Syrian refugees residing in Europe have are now
permitted to enter the Kingdom for one-month visits.
