AMMAN —
Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) received 626 requests for
licenses in July from various sectors, of which it rejected eight, according to
Al-Mamlaka TV.

According to EMRC
website, of the requests approved, 350 concerned natural resources, 133 the
radiation and nuclear sector, 23 electricity and renewable energy, and 112 oil
and its derivatives.
With regard to the
natural resources, 332 requests were for first-time licenses or permits,
including 118 to export raw materials, 206 to import raw materials, seven for
quarries, and one for exploration.
As for license or
permit renewal requests, 12 were for waiver or modification of a license, four
for permits, and two to have licenses cancelled.
In the radiology
sector, EMRC received 133 requests, including 90 first-time, 39 for
import-export transit, 14 institutional, and 37 personal requests. It also
received 43 requests for license or permit renewal.
In the electricity
and renewable energy field, EMRC received 23 requests, of which 11 were for the
first time, one for a public charging station, and 12 to have licenses or
permits renewed.
Of the 120 requests
received from the oil and its derivatives sector, 112 were approved, including
98 to operate a central liquefied petroleum gas facility, five to establish
fuel stations, two to establish an agency for distributing liquefied gas
cylinders, and one to import liquefied petroleum gas tanks.
EMRC also received five requests to waive or amend licenses
or permits, a request for renewal, eight requests were rejected, including six
to establish a gas station, and two to establish an agency for distributing
liquefied gas cylinders.
