AMMAN — The official spokesperson of the
Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) revealed that the commission will conduct a study
in six months on reducing off-peak tariffs to increase the number of sectors
benefiting from this reduction, including the household sector.

This way citizens can benefit from the new system and reduce
their bills by operating certain appliances such as washing machines,
dishwashers, kettles, air conditioners, and irons during off-peak hours,
according to Jo24.
The spokesperson also mentioned that the study aims to
develop and improve the service and change the consumption pattern.
It was clarified that devices that rely on heating and
generating heat are the ones that consume electricity, while lighting has lower
consumption.
