AMMAN — Irbid Public Prosecutor ordered eight football fans to be held in custody for one week on charges of perpetrating riot after the football match that brought together Ramtha and Wehdat teams in Jordan FA Cup, which took place at Al-Hassan Stadium in Irbid city Wednesday, according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The Public Prosecutor charged the eight individuals with offense of rioting, causing damage and sabotage at sports facilities, in accordance with provisions of Article 467/2 of Jordan's Penal Code.
Earlier, security apparatuses arrested 8 people after the end of the match, for causing riots and material damage to the stadium seats.
