The study, presented at the 13th International Conference of
the Jordan Orthopedic Society, included 1,268 patients of government and
private hospitals, and lasted for three years. The results were published in a
global medical journal.
The conference emphasized the importance of cooperation between
orthopedic surgeons, osteoporosis
specialists, naturopathic doctors, psychiatrists, and anesthesiologists
in treating fractures and performing orthopedic surgeries.
Society President Dr Firas Al-Dabobi said during the conference that
agreements were reached with international orthopedic associations to send specialists
to train in orthopedic sub-disciplines.
The conference recommended the creation of sub-committees within the
society to conduct specialty workshops and give lectures, he said. It also
recommended expanding the use of robotic devices in bone operations, especially
artificial joint implants, which require very accurate measurements.
