According to data released on Thursday by the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO), the highest
power load ever recorded in the Kingdom was 4,010 MW last January.
The company expected that the electric load during the peak of the prevailing heat wave would rise by 5 percent, from the maximum load registered since the beginning of the current summer, and by 11 percent from the highest level recorded last summer, which amounted to 3,330 MW.
The power grid in Jordan is capable of enduring any electric load, the NEPCO said, pointing to plans set in place in preparation for the electric load expected during the prevailing weather conditions.
