AMMAN — The representative of the automobile sector at the
Jordan Free Zone Investor Commission, Jihad Abu Naser, stated that the
growth rate in the purchase of
electric vehicles (EV) reached about 100 percent in the
first seven months of the current year 2023, compared to the previous year.

Abu Nasser added that the market for
purchasing electric vehicles is currently one of the most active sectors in Jordan, confirming that
there is a clear trend among
Jordanian citizens to acquire
EVs.
Last year, the increase in demand reached 200 percent compared to the previous
year, Al-Saa News reported.
He said that the American market the largest number of
vehicles followed by the Korean market. Meanwhile, the
Chinese market has the
largest shares of the electric vehicle sector in Jordan.
The electric vehicle markets is witnessing unprecedented
demands due to its decreased taxation and
lower fuel expenses compared to other
types of vehicles.
