AMMAN — The
Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources concluded the initiatives and projects outlined for the mining sector
as part of the
Economic Modernization Vision (EMV) in 2023, approving the
priorities highlighted in the executive program of the EMV, Jordan News Agency,
Petra, reported.

According to the ministry, 11
Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) were signed within the initiative to optimally benefit from
investment opportunities in extractive industries.
Through these memos, the
ministry aims to position Jordan on the regional and even global mining map, recognizing the
importance of Jordan’s mining sector in providing the national economy with
added value and creating job opportunities to foster sustainable development.
In alignment with the EMV, the ministry
emphasized that it is working to enhance the mining sector’s contribution to
the
Gross Domestic Product (GDP), based on the positive outcomes attained so
far to restore the sector's investment momentum.
Furthermore, the ministry affirmed its
commitment to finalize the initiatives in 2024, and move to the phase of
enhancing value of mineral ores in the extractive industries.
