AMMAN — In a meeting with the Amman Group for Future
Dialogues, former Prime Minister Taher Al-Masri emphasized the importance of
citizen participation in decision-making processes to overcome local and global
changes.

He highlighted the need for institutional development,
teamwork, and a gradual approach to address these challenges.
Al-Masri highlighted that Jordan is facing these changes
against the backdrop of regional and international developments that will have
significant implications.
During the meeting, he highlighted the developments in
Palestine and ongoing war in Ukraine, which intertwines with conflicting
alliances and global interests.
In regards to Palestine, he noted that the action of the
extremist-led government under Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu to
implement its plans, especially in Jerusalem, and its relationships with the
residents of the West Bank, have negative effects on Jordan.
He concluded that the world is going through a critical
phase, emphasizing the necessity of involving citizens in decision-making to
overcome both local and external changes.
