Announced on Tuesday, the project seeks to bolster the growth and performance of 100 Jordanian companies by providing each selected business with $25,000 in financial assistance, contingent upon meeting specified criteria.

The selection process will span two years, with 50 companies chosen annually. The initiative targets 80% technological firms and 20% traditional enterprises, with a mandate that at least 10% hail from Jordan's governorates and 30% owned or led by women, according to the ministry statement on Tuesday.

Addressing the launching ceremony, Minister Ahmed Hanandeh underscored the project's significance in enhancing "competitiveness" of startups, enabling them to thrive locally and globally.

Hanandeh added that this effort aligns with the ministry's commitment to foster the digital economy's growth, as outlined in the National Entrepreneurship Policy aimed at enriching Jordan's "entrepreneurial" landscape.

Criteria for eligibility include registration on Jordan's www.startupsJo platform, operation for a minimum of two years, and a workforce size ranging from 5 to 250 employees.

Applicants must demonstrate annual revenues exceeding $100,000, exhibit potential for "rapid" expansion and job creation, contribute "positively" to the local ecosystem, and showcase "high" levels of innovation.
