It stated that it is unknown for certain if a cyberattack or a technological fault caused the failure.
The Ministry clarified that, with regard to Jordan, initial information suggests that no government systems have been reported to be impacted because the system is not utilized in government systems. It added that, while it is improbable, follow-up is being conducted to make sure that no specific institutions have been impacted.
It made the point that, in terms of the private sector, the data suggests that there is no discernible impact because, in the financial industry, only a relatively small number of enterprises were impacted, and those that were were mostly handled. Additionally, there is information suggesting that certain non-Jordanian airlines experienced issues with their reservation systems. Since Jordan does not use the system extensively, no major effects are anticipated in any of the industries.
