AMMAN — Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairy said that he was “impressed” by Jordanian celebrations of Saudi
Arabia’s World Cup victory against Argentina, Khaberni reported.
However, the ambassador remarked that he “was not
surprised” by the reaction, given that “we are one people, and our (Saudi)
success is a success for Jordan.”
The Saudi national team made history after a 2–1 win
against Argentina’s national team on Tuesday in Qatar.
Jordanians of all ages are expressing interest in the
World Cup, especially because it is being hosted in a fellow Arab country.
A number of private schools in Jordan gave students the
opportunity to watch the match between Saudi Arabia and Argentina during the
school day on Tuesday.
