Epidemiology committee recommends reducing COVID-19 quarantine period

AMMAN — The National Epidemiology Committee recommended reducing the quarantine period for people who have asymptomatic COVID-19 to five days and keep them as seven days for those with symptoms, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.اضافة اعلان

A member of the National Epidemiological Committee Bassam Hijjawi said that seven days are enough for a person to resume work, adding that wearing a facemask prevents infecting other people.

He said that 90 percent of infections recorded in Jordan are Omicron variant, and a small number of infections are Delta, adding that fatalities mostly caused by the Delta variant

The number of confirmed infections in Jordan during exceeded 112,000 this past week as the Kingdom passes through a fourth COVID-19 wave. Hijjawi said that the duration of the fourth wave will be shorter than the previous waves.
