AMMAN — The
Jordan Media Commission decided to ban
the screening of the movie “
Eternals” in all cinemas in the Kingdom starting
November 10, due to the failure of the film’s maker and distributor to comply
with the required deletions before it can be screened, according to Al-Ghad
News.

The commission said in a statement Tuesday, that the
decision was based on the provisions of Article (7/b) of the Visual and Audio
Works Monitoring Regulations No. 63 of 2004 and its amendments, which prohibits
the showing of any of the violating work in whole or in part.
The commission added that the decision came after the film’s
maker refused to delete some scenes that did not comply with the regulations,
in addition to changing the age classification the film. The commission
confirmed that the film was never shown in any of the cinemas in the Kingdom.
