Engineer Wael Al-Samain told the minister that there are
many Jordanian expatriates living in the Ontario Province, who hope that a
consulate would be considered in Toronto to cater for their affairs.
A 2011 Canadian census said nearly 40,000 people of
Jordanian origin lived in Toronto. However, the number is believed to be much
higher now, due to an increased emigration of Jordanians in the last decade.
