Today, His Majesty King Abdullah II received Christian and Muslim religious leaders from Jordan and Palestine at Al-Husseiniya Palace, in the presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.

The visit comes as part of celebrations for the holiday season and reflects Jordan's continuous support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and its commitment to safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

They emphasized that the royal grant reflects this vision, aiming to achieve peace and security for the region and the world.

They also underlined the importance of the Hashemite Custodianship as a cornerstone of preserving the Arab identity of Jerusalem, lauding King Abdullah II’s initiatives to protect Islamic and Christian holy sites.

The royal grant includes gilding the decorations of the Dome of the Rock in Al-Aqsa Mosque and supporting the establishment of an Orthodox university at the Baptism Site (Al-Maghtas) on the eastern bank of the Jordan River.

These initiatives reaffirm Jordan's commitment to fostering human brotherhood and preserving the historical and religious identity of Jerusalem.
