In a press statement, The JPC Chairman, Sami Daoud, said the center was equipped with the "highest" international standards, approved by the Jordan Customs Department (JCD), noting that activities will continue round the clock, seven days a week, to ensure continuity of services, meet the needs of the growing market, and complete transactions quickly.
Daoud added that the center came amid the increasing demand for e-commerce and the increase in the number of in-bound shipments to Jordan.
Daoud noted JPC building was chosen as the center's headquarters due to the availability of sufficient and necessary infrastructure, as well as the single window for customs and monitoring services and the geographical location, which contributes to facilitating the transfer of parcels to the capital and Jordan's governorates.
For his part, the center's director, Yahia Farahid, said the new facility represents a "qualitative" shift in the e-commerce field due to its "positive" impact on the growth of the national economy.
The center aims to address the increase in the "large" volume of parcels and the lack of an adequate venue to absorb quantities, which would facilitate, simplify and unify customs procedures for clearing parcels, according to the "best" standards and practices in dealing with e-commerce operations, he pointed out.
Farahaid stated that this effort would reduce costs for citizens and ensure speed of delivering parcels to their destinations quickly.
