AMMAN — The
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Saturday condemned a shooting in which an Irish peacekeeper was
killed and three other members of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon were injured,
the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

In a statement, the ministry stressed the need to ensure the
security and safety of
UN peacekeeping missions and respect their role of
safeguarding peace and stability, assigned to them by the UN Security Council.
It expressed its deep condolences to the government and
people of the Republic of Ireland and to the victim’s family.
