She would replace dismissed MP
Muhammad Enad Al-Fayez for
the Central Bedouin district, a local media outlet reported.
On Wednesday, the Lower House voted by a majority of 92
votes out of 110 during a closed session to dismiss representative Fayez for
violating House bylaws.
The Lower House had addressed the
Independent Election Commission about a seat vacancy in the Central Bedouin district on Thursday,
said Khalayleh. The commission responded that the candidate who follows the
holder of the vacant seat from the same Al-Ahed list in the district is
Khudair, who received 2,912 votes in the legislative elections.
Khalayleh said that Fayez was not a member of any Lower
House permanent committees, but he was the head of the Jordanian Parliamentary
Friendship Committee with the Gulf countries and Yemen.
The process of selecting a new chairman for the committee
will take place with the agreement of other parliamentary blocs, said
Khalayleh.
