AMMAN — President of the Cattle Breeders Association, Laith
Al-Hajj, said that the Ministry of Agriculture has not provided compensation to
farmers affected by foot-and-mouth disease.

He stated that the official statements regarding this issue
have not been fulfilled, Jo24 reported, and that the fate of the compensations
is unclear at the moment.
In his statement, he called for practical solutions after
completing amendments to the Agricultural Risk Fund System, and mentioned that
the ministry has distributed 20,000 vaccines to farmers for the first dose,
while another 20,000 will be distributed in the upcoming period.
He further stated that the association has given the
Ministry of Agriculture until the end of the current week to clarify its
procedures regarding the compensation file before taking any escalatory
measures, emphasizing that all options are on the table.
