enroot its democratic experience, noting the milestone achievements made along
that path.

He told a seminar at the Royal Cultural Centre on the
constitutional achievements of His Majesty King Abdullah II that the Jordanian
state has taken reform in the various fields as an approach, based on a
constitution that safeguards public freedoms, guarantees equality and freedom
of assembly and expression and preserves the citizens' dignity.
Since assuming his constitutional powers, His Majesty has
embraced reform, provided a strong will for a reform process and laid a clear
vision for the future of democracy in the country, Fayez said.
He cited the key achievements that were made under King
Abdullah's reign, including constitutional amendments that produced the
Constitutional Court, a Judicial Council and the Independent Election
Commission.
The amendments led to the passage of key legislation that
strengthened the integrity and transparency system and enhanced popular
participation and public freedoms, he said.
"The constitutional amendments came to underscore that
we are moving steadily along a path of political reform towards the formation
of platform-based partisan parliamentary governments according to a clear
vision stated by His Majesty the King in his Discussion Papers," the
Senate chief said.
