The President of the Senate, Faisal Al-Fayez, stated that in light of the international and regional geopolitical shifts, the emergence of new political equations and realities in the region, and the continued expansionist and aggressive policies of the Israeli occupation, "we must all rally around His Majesty King Abdullah II and support his efforts in defending our national principles and Jordan’s supreme interests." He emphasized His Majesty's keenness on maintaining the security and stability Jordan enjoys, despite the chaos and political and security conflicts in the region.اضافة اعلان

Al-Fayez stressed the importance of strengthening the internal front and confronting hate speech, regional, sectarian rhetoric, and "bickering" on social media platforms. He explained that "Jordan is being targeted from the outside by orchestrated electronic attacks through social media platforms and fake accounts aiming to undermine our social fabric and national unity. This necessitates closing ranks and firmly confronting anyone who tampers with the security and stability of the country."

He called for empowering national media to defend Jordan’s core values and to unify its message. He also pointed to the importance of political parties playing a role in confronting inciters of sedition and hate speech.

This came during his meeting on Tuesday in Jerash Governorate with local community representatives, attended by Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Senator Zuheir Abu Fares, heads of the Senate committees, Governor of Jerash Dr. Firas Al-Faour, and various dignitaries, parliamentarians, and former ministers. The meeting was part of the Senate’s efforts to engage with different societal and popular segments, youth, and civil institutions across governorates to discuss national issues and challenges in light of current regional developments.

Al-Fayez reviewed the various challenges Jordan has faced since the founding of the modern Jordanian state, affirming that "Jordan has always managed to overcome them and emerge stronger, thanks to the wisdom of our Hashemite kings, the awareness of our people, and the strength of our armed forces and security agencies."

He highlighted that the greatest achievement of the Jordanian state is His Majesty King Abdullah II’s ability, with his wisdom and political acumen, to preserve Jordan’s security and stability amidst regional conflicts and chaos.

He emphasized that "Jordanians, in all their social components, take pride in their Hashemite leadership, headed by His Majesty King Abdullah II. They are equally proud of the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army – and our security agencies, the nation's shield and fortress, whose pure blood was shed in defense of the nation's pride and dignity, and in defense of Palestine, Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights, and in support of just Arab causes."

Al-Fayez reiterated his and all patriotic Jordanians' rejection of any attacks against the armed forces and security agencies, regardless of the source. He stated, "Jordan, His Majesty King Abdullah II, our armed forces, and our security services are red lines. This is to ensure Jordan remains a bastion of resilience and a significant force in the region, unbreakable and impervious to conspiracies. Our national unity must be a sacred trust as emphasized by His Majesty."

He questioned, “Why is anyone who defends the homeland and its Hashemite leadership accused of flattery?” He added, "The traitor is the one who tries to tamper with the country’s security and stability. The traitor is the one who sows discord among members of the single Jordanian family. Those who defend the homeland and its leadership are its protectors, and our patriotic positions are not up for debate." He affirmed that a true Jordanian is loyal to Jordan’s sacred soil and the Hashemite leadership led by His Majesty King Abdullah II.

He clarified, "I am not against organized marches and sit-ins that safeguard national security and interests and raise only the flag of Jordan."

Regarding the Palestinian issue and the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, Al-Fayez said the Jordanian people and Hashemite leadership have always taken honorable stances in supporting the Palestinian people and defending the Palestinian cause. He stressed that no one is allowed to question Jordan's nationalistic and Arab stance or its support for the Palestinian cause. Since the era of the Emirate, Jordan has supported the Palestinian struggle for freedom and independence.

He added that Jordanians, alongside the free people of the nation, will never forget the sacrifices of the Hashemite leadership for Palestine. Sharif Hussein bin Ali refused to recognize the British Mandate over Palestine and to accept Palestine as a national homeland for the Jews, leading to his exile to Cyprus. King Abdullah I was martyred at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the late King Hussein never hesitated in defending Palestinian rights. His position on Palestine and Jerusalem was a central pillar in the Arab and Islamic struggle for the Palestinian cause and helped protect Islamic and Christian holy sites from being judaized for decades.

He highlighted that His Majesty King Abdullah II places the Palestinian issue at the forefront of his priorities and works tirelessly to ensure the Palestinian people gain their legitimate rights and establish an independent state on Palestinian national soil with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Al-Fayez also stated that His Majesty strongly opposes the brutal Israeli aggression against Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza and firmly resists Israeli expansionist plans and forced displacement attempts. His Majesty personally delivers humanitarian aid to Palestinians in besieged Gaza. This is why Jordan, under Hashemite leadership and with its tribes and diverse social fabric, has been the foremost defender of the Palestinian cause since the time of the Emirate. When the Palestinian revolution broke out in 1936, Jordanian tribes volunteered to join the struggle, and in 1948, they joined the Jordanian armed forces, which protected the West Bank.

He warned against those attempting to shift the conflict with the Zionist enemy into Jordan’s internal sphere and divert attention from what’s happening in Gaza and the West Bank, emphasizing that "Jordan’s supreme interests and the preservation of national security and stability must remain the top priority."

The Senate President affirmed that "Jordanian national identity is one and united. Jordan is Jordan, and Palestine is Palestine. We are all Jordanians for Jordan, and Palestinians for Palestine. Jordan’s security and stability come first – Jordan comes first." He noted that Jordan cannot bear the burden of the Palestinian issue alone and cannot go to war with Israel alone. War with Israel is an Arab decision, but if called upon and Israel attempts to tamper with our national principles, we will sacrifice our blood to defend the homeland and confront them with strength.

The meeting also addressed the current economic conditions in Jordan, including poverty, unemployment, living standards, development, and investment. Al-Fayez explained that most economic challenges stem from the regional situation and the ongoing conflicts around Jordan, which have increased poverty and unemployment and affected citizens' lives.

He stressed the importance of paying attention to Jerash Governorate, supporting tourism and development projects there, and enhancing its presence on the Arab and international tourism map as an attractive destination.

He said His Majesty King Abdullah II is fully aware of the challenges facing the country and its citizens, and thus has launched a vision for economic and administrative modernization aimed at improving the economic situation and ensuring a decent life for citizens.

Al-Fayez concluded by affirming that Jordan is a strong country – strong in its monarch, the Hashemite institution, its people, army, security agencies, and constitutional institutions. Despite the region's turmoil, Jordan continues its path confidently. Since its foundation, and due to its geopolitical location, Jordan has faced various political, economic, and security challenges, some internal and some external, but has always emerged stronger and more resilient.

At the beginning of the meeting, Senator Mahmoud Freihat welcomed the Senate President and members, appreciating the visit as an embodiment of His Majesty King Abdullah II’s directives to engage with citizens. He stressed standing firmly behind the Hashemite leadership to confront challenges and reiterated that Jordan has always been among the strongest supporters of the Palestinian cause – the foremost cause of all Arabs and Muslims.

Several residents of Jerash Governorate affirmed their support for the Hashemite leadership and their backing of the comprehensive reform path led by His Majesty to keep Jordan safe and stable. They highlighted that His Majesty does not compromise on his homeland or the issues of the Arab nation and that he has placed the Arab world in front of a great responsibility regarding the Palestinian cause.

They confirmed their loyalty and commitment to the Hashemite leadership and to Jordan’s soil, emphasizing the importance of preserving Jordan’s supreme national interests.

The Senate President and committee heads listened to citizens' remarks on service and economic issues, poverty, and unemployment in the governorate and the need to follow up with relevant government entities and find suitable solutions, including establishing investment projects that provide employment opportunities.
